Last Saturday afternoon I rushed from my Teacher Training session at yogayama to spend four hours at the “Stockholm Zen Center” which is a Buddhist temple located on the south side of the city. Here we practice zazen, seated meditation for 20 to 30 minutes at a time with short breaks of walking meditation in between. Even something so still and quiet as sitting and focusing your erratic mind on the breath becomes an extremely vibrant experience when you do this together with a group of people trying to explore the same thing. It’s surprising to me how much it helps, even in a seated practice, to be in the awareness of others.
